Plastic pollution is choking our rivers, clogging our drains, and threatening public health. Oleena Mahila Samajam’s Clean Kerala Mission is a campaign to eliminate plastic waste at the grassroots—starting from homes and extending to Panchayat levels.
Our approach combines community awareness, behavior change, and sustainable solutions. We conduct workshops in schools, markets, and residential colonies to educate people on reducing single-use plastics and switching to reusable alternatives. We distribute eco-friendly bags and demonstrate how to recycle or upcycle plastic waste.
In partnership with local governance bodies, Oleena sets up collection points and coordinates with recyclers for safe disposal. We also support women-led micro-enterprises that produce cloth bags, paper packaging, and compostable cutlery.
